His keywords were SPECIFIC to golf slice. Nothing like golf clubs, or golf equipment.. .only golf slice. 2. The product he was recommending was also SPECIFIC to fixing a golf slice. Not golf issues or putting…just to the slice. It is VERY important to be VERY specific and targeted to exactly WHO you want and WHAT you offer them. Once you can get a highly targeted campaign to convert, you can move on to a more “traffic gathering” mode to get more eyeballs on it. In Nick’s case, we chose keywords that were only about a golf slice. No, these individual keywords did not reflect high search volume, but there IS search volume shown…and that is all that matters to me when I start a campaign. Also, there is not a high amount of competition for each of these little words, BUT there are AdWords advertisements - so, someone thinks these words are profitable and worth targeting =)
We took each of these little keywords and reserved a Squidoo url with those keywords in it. For example, if the keyword was cure a slice, we reserved squidoo.com/cure-a-slice. Yes, I had Nick make ONE lens per EACH keyword. It is most important to learn how to create an optimized web page online. By learning to optimize for ONE keyword, you will increase your knowledge and learning and be able to eventually optimize a web page for numerous related keywords at one time.
This is a learned skill. Start at the beginning - no short cuts. Nick made a bunch of lenses (about 5 to start) that each were highly targeted to a very specific keyword. The bio boxes of all these lenses were optimized and linked out to the affiliate offering either thru a text link, an image, or both. Be creative here and don’t be afraid to try things. If the Clickbank product has a cool newsletter opt-in on their salespage, take a screen shot and use Paint to crop it. Upload it to PhotoBucket.com and use it in your bio area…or on your lens. Have the image link to the product where the actual opt in form can be found.
Make sure your keyword is in:
• The url
• The title §
• The first few words of your intro module
• The module titles |
• The bio box |
• Anchor text on the lens 8
These are your ‘hot spots’ - use them wisely. Each of these lenses will link together. Provide an experience for the reader by offering more information that is highly targeted to what they are looking for. Hopefully, after a few lens reads, they will be interested enough to click thru to your CB product.
